Founded in 1984 in Carmel, California, Earthbound Farm is a leading organic packaged salad producer with a 70% market share at the time of acquisition. During the investment period, the company launched multiple new products, made several add-on acquisitions and lowered costs by initiating the production of its product packaging in house. The business was sold to the Canadian Pension Plan as part of a packaged portfolio sale.
